What is the Let Property Campaign?

The LPC is an arrangement set aside by the HMRC to help landlords declare tax that has not been paid on income earned from renting residential properties. This enables the user to make a declaration through a system with fewer penalties than if they were to be imposed on unpaid voluntary disclosure. The campaign applies to landlords who:

  • Own one or more rental properties.
  • Rent-out property to students and working-class individuals.
  • Offer holiday rentals.
  • Let out a room(s) which is/are part of the Rent a Room Scheme and exceeds its threshold.
  • Earn rental income from a property in the West Midlands while living abroad.
